The time has come for us to sell our Clio 197.

We have owned the car from new and since then it has gone through many changes to arrive at what it is now, a full on 280bhp monster complete with Megane R26 engine.

The car has been universally praised by all that have been in it and we have to say it drives very well indeed. In fact most say this is the car Renault Sport should have produced and we tend to agree with them.

Twingo RS enters the workshop.

We have finally bought ourselves a Twingo RS to use as a development car.

We have quite a few plans for this car starting with a new larger bore exhaust system and possibly a new performance exhaust manifold and sports cat. Next up we will be looking at a camshaft upgrade along with a new induction kit.

There are a few out there who will also be pleased to hear that we will also be making a boot mat available for the Twingo for those who have stripped out their rear seats.

KTR + 4 Clios = 1300+bhp!

Last week saw us have 4 very good customers return for mapping and upgrades to their KTR turbocharged Clios. The four cars were made up of a black Phase 1 172, a black Phase 2 172, a silver Phase 2 172 and a blue 182, all of which we have extensively breathed upon to an extent that their combined horse power is now over 1300bhp!!!

First in we had Nathan's black 172 Phase 1. Nathan has been running the turbo kit on his car for many years now and came in for some more power and a single piece race clutch set up. With the clutch fitted and the car strapped to the dyno Andy mapped it in a few hours and it left us with 380bhp and one very happy owner.

Next in was Phelim's black 172 Phase 2. Earlier in the year we carried out a full forged engine build complete with high boost turbo kit installation and in the last few weeks Phelim has been running the new engine in. With a quick oil change it was time to map the car and following an afternoon on the dyno the car made a very healthy 320bhp.

Alan's silver 172 Phase 2 was next. Like Phelim we had recently carried out a forged engine and high boost turbo upgrade to this car and now it was well run in it was time to up the boost. This car was running the standard catalytic converter to start with but still managed to produce well over 300bhp. We then decided to fit a 5" high flow sports cat into one of our decat pipes and this resulted in revised mapping and 345bhp.

Last car in was Mark's very clean 182. We have carried out a lot of work to this car over the years over a year ago it was a Redline Magazine front cover car. This car was turbocharged by another company but has been back to us in the past to get it running well and for an upgrade to our GEN90 ecu. This time it was back in for fine tuning and an injector upgrade as the injectors previously fitted had a very poor spray pattern which resulted in very bad fuel economy. With the new injectors fitted and the mapping carried out the car now has a very strong 294 bhp with well over 300lbs/ft of torque.

It just goes to show how well the Clios can handle a lot more power if done safely. All the above cars are running the standard gearbox, and a little bird tells me that one of these cars has just been recorded on GPS doing 170mph!!. It is also worth pointing out just how much torque these engines are producing, with every one well over 300lbs/ft.

Another busy Megane week!

This week has seen another group of Meganes pass through the workshop for various work. Among the many cars in for various upgrades and tuning work we had a few that stood out:

First we had a very tidy R26.R back in for some more work, although this time it was not our usual tuning work. Ross had previously been to see us for a hybrid turbo and brake upgrade but this time was a little different. The list of work requirements this time was to help make driving the R26.R a little easier and more pleasurable and includes the fitment of an OE Renault stereo set up along with the addition of electric mirrors. As anyone who has an R26.R knows, adjusting the mirrors can be  a real pain when you are fully strapped in so we fitted a full R26 electric mirror set up to take care of this. We then fitted one of our 5" 200 cell sports cats into his existing downpipe to save refitting the standard cat come MOT time (new KTR sports catted downpipes coming in the next few weeks). Finally we had his black wheels powder coated red which have set the car off very nicely indeed.

Next up was a R26 track car which was shipped to us from Scotland. The owner was not happy with the map it was running that had been carried out by another company and wanted more safe power. With this in mind we added our uprated alloy intercooler, larger injectors and our hybrid turbo upgrade. Once fully set up and mapped we are now ready to deliver the 303bhp/336lbs/ft  R26 back to its owner in time for him to blast around Knockhill.

Last Megane of the week was a very clean Megane 3 RS 265 Trophy which was in for a remap and KTR cat back exhaust system. The car came in running a very healthy 275bhp and a massive 290lbs/ft, it left running 314bhp and 337lbs/ft!! This is now a very well sorted car.

Next week it is Clio 2 RS Turbo week with 4 KTR built turbocharged, forged engined cars in for mapping and further upgrades!
